That's a great capture indeed. It's called a crab spider (probably a Misumena vatia), and we do have them here in England, Alistair. They're just very small. They use those big front legs of theirs to catch their prey. It's a great photo - look at all those eyes.. eugh. CurlyToes @ July 22nd, 2005
Wow - thanks for identifying it CurlyToes, good to know. I looked it up in Google images and it does look like a misumena vatia. This was found in a graden on a small island here in Washington State. She was pretty small, it took a few shots to get the right DOF for her eyes. novon @ July 22nd, 2005
